Aria recently completed her MFA in Design & Technology from the Parsons School of Design. Aria Wu was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. After her high school study, Aria went to the China Central Academy of Fine Arts and finished the International Foundation Course program. Aria graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and got her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art & Technology Studies in December 2018. Considering the popularity of digital media in people’s lives today, she is interested in creating new media works like games, web, and interactive projects
For her thesis, she designed a mobile game based on one of the Classical Gardens of Suzhou. She created a virtual Master-of-Nets Garden to allow players to wander around within the game. She also designed a kindergarten lesson plan that allows kindergarten educators to teach their students how to play this game on their tablets and learn more about the story and history of the Master-of-Nets Garden through class activities. The lesson plan is divided into the following sections: goal, activity focus, difficulty, preparation, and activity process. Watch a preview here.
